Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Bukavu.
Your always advised that you spend the night before the start of the safari in Rwanda or fly in early morning . After arriving at the Kigali International Airport or waking up in the morning at the hotel/ lodge, you will be picked by the company’s skilled representative/ driver who will transfer you southwards to the Cyangugu border en-route Bukavu Congo and on your way you will enjoy the scenic views of the rolling hills, vegetation of Rwanda. You can opt to visit the various Genocide Memorial sites and other attractions around Rwanda. Dinner and Overnight at Orchids Lodge .
Day 2: Lowland Gorilla Trekking at Kahuzi Biega National Park.
After morning break fast , you will jump into the safari jeep and take one hour drive to the park headquarter for briefing about the lowland gorilla trekking rules & regulations . Understand that Lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biege National Park that are much bigger in size with vast family groups as compared to the endangered species of Mountain Gorillas. After the trek, you can opt to the chimpanzee orphanage centre Near the park , Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Orchids Lodge
Day 3: Bukavu to Bujumbura via Congo – Visit Ruzizi.
On arrival our guide will drive you to the hotel. Tour Bujumbura , visit the cultural and snake museum, and tour the memorial, the city hall, Lake Tanganyika which is the most prominent attraction in the area, the Islam Culture Centre. Dinner and overnight stay at Club Lake Tanganyika Hotel.
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibira National Park.
Visit the Kibira Forest National Park and do chimpanzee tracking. It is located at the peak of tip of the Zaire Nile covering an expanse of 40 000 hectares of conserved woodland and is the biggest unspoiled natural locality within Burundi. The park has wealthy abundance of wildlife like chimpanzees, white & black colobus, baboons plus many others. There are close to 98 mammal species, 644 plant plus flower species and over 200 bird species found in here. If time allows, visit the Memorial of the Explorers which is a massive rock in the outskirts of Bujumbura that commemorates the conference of Hanington with John Speke in 1871 who both where explorers. You will have lunch and proceed back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 5: Bujumbura city tour and visit Gitenga. Return to the Lodge for Dinner and over night stay.
Day 6: You will have breakfast, you will be driven back to Bujumbura for your flight back home.
